Kat + Duncan | Vancouver Wedding Photographers

Kat’s an Island girl, who has fit into mainland living perfectly with the help of Duncan.  K+D originally met over 10 years ago on the Island and a few years later she wanted to permanently make Vancouver her home. There was Duncan just waiting to show her the city but with one big obstacle: her big brother! Once they had big bro’s approval they went full steam ahead and it’s pretty easy to see why. Kat + Duncan have an obvious chemistry; but they are 100% themselves and have an easiness between them that only comes with time and friendship.

Furbabies Ibiza + Oscar!

Ya, it’s true! Kat is rockin’ a pair of super sexy stilettos from Barbie!!

Favourite Photography Moment: We are walking along the docks with this gorgeous light and I jokingly ask for Kat to jump up in the tree, IN her dress and in THOSE  heels! Without even blinking, she was in that tree in her dress AND those shoes with that amazing light…..

Kat, you are GORGEOUS!!

Allison + Derek | Dreams Tulum Mayan Riviera

Allison + Derek’s Mayan Riviera wedding was hot and I don’t mean just the temperature! It was a sweltering day at the beach for the wedding and an exciting adventure for the day after session- not for the faint of heart. Complete with handcuffs (well almost:)), lots of sweat and finally a beach make-out session at sunset to calm the nerves =FUN!! Our hats off to you two for being open to adventure and risk; it paid off!

Derek + Allison (who is a softball player) would have originally met when Derek was coaching a women’s softball team that Allison decided not to try out for. But a few years later he was recruiting again and with a little prompting from a friend she decided to try out. She made the team and perhaps not just because she could hit and catch the ball…she also caught his attention…

Shoes: Mystique
Jewelry: Necklace- Custom designed by Dugan Custom Jewelers
Invitations: designed by Allison’s sister Jennifer Zevon
Grooms Attire: Suit was Carl Anthony Tuxedo; Derek’s tie from Brooks Brothers
Allison’s Favourite moments from the wedding day: …”when I turned to corner to walk down the aisle on the beach with my dad and seeing Derek and our families. We also had so much fun performing our choreographed first dance, everyone was so surprised!”

Allison’s dad saved the cigars he was given when she was born and brought them and her baby shoes to the wedding! It was so heartwarming and really made us think about traditions and creating them to suit your family.

Kaysha + Patrick | Vancouver Wedding Photographers

Patrick and  Kaysha  bonded over mosquitoes and the West Nile Virus. That’s a first for us!

They had both gotten summer jobs working for the West Nile virus program and although Patrick had worked there before, Kaysha started her position before Patrick that year. Everyone in the office told Kaysha what she would love Patrick and how wonderful he was.  The office workers were so relentless on the match up, as a joke, Kaysha made a “Welcome Back” poster for him after she found his photo on Google and drew a big cartoon of him on the poster!!  Needless to say, he was a little surprised when he saw the poster and realized it was Kaysha, someone he’d never even met welcoming him back to the office! How could you not fall in love?!

The Details:

Groom’s Attire:
Suit and Shirt: Hugo Boss
Bow Tie: Carrot & Gibbs
Dress Shoes: Kenneth Cole

Bride’s Attire:
Wedding Gown: Mikaella Bridal
Shoes: Naturalizer Flats

Florists:
The table settings and decor were DIY by bride’s parents (WOW!)
Kaysha’s bouquet, boutonnieres and corsages and orchids: Brookswood Florist

Cake:
Mango Fruit Cake from Maxim’s Bakery

Favourite Moments:
By far our favourite moment was our First Look and spending the early afternoon taking pictures together. The rest of the day went by so fast and getting to spend this time together before the wedding ceremony and reception was the best!

Our Favourite Photography Moment: K+P were overjoyed, thrilled, excited, beyond excited to see each other. There aren’t enough adjectives to accuratley portray their happiness.  In their moment of joy Patrick just picked her up and literally walked away with Kaysha! They were so enthralled with each other they forgot we were there!

Michelle + Brent | White Rock Wedding Photographers

It was during high school gym class when Brent locked eyes with Michelle and he was hooked. Maybe it was her big blue eyes, maybe it was her sweet smile, her shy demeanour or just her unabashed beauty, he’ll never tell.  But whatever it may be, he sure is still in awe of her; including on their wedding day.  All he could muster out was what he’s been hearing for years: What a lucky guy he is.  From our lens, they are both pretty lucky; two wonderful people made for each other in spirit, beauty and love….

Dress: Sottero & Midgley from The Bridal Gallery in New Westminster
Jewellery: Pearl necklace was a gift from Dad, earrings Swarovski
Grooms Attire: Black and Lee Tuxedos
Florist:  Petals and Stems in White Rock
Cake: Frosting Cupcakery
DJ: Garry Robertson DJ
Ceremony: First United Church
Reception: Morgan Creek Golf Course

Favourite Moments from our wedding day: Waiting with my dad to go down the aisle and seeing Brent for the first time. After the ceremony, Brent and I snuck off into the bridal room just to step back and chat to ourselves.

Kyra + Dan | Vancouver Engagement Session

I love hearing the story of how couples met.  We meet a lot of people in our lifetime- do you remember  meeting each and every person? Chemistry is such a funny thing, its just freezes that moment in time.  That brings us to Kyra + Dan and their version of how they met:

Kyra:  I was in an old converted mansion bar looking for my friends to meet up for drinks.  As I was searching for my girls, I see this guy sitting with friends and was instantly drawn to him.  I finally found my friends but to my dismay it turned out we were sitting on a different floor of the bar.  I enlisted the help of a girlfriend to help me make a plan to meet this cute guy but when we went back to his table  he was gone!  Trying not to panic, I turned around to see if I could spot him and there he was standing behind me with a huge grin on his face.  He said hello which led to great conversation……

Dan:  I was at a bar. Saw a cute girl. Said hello.    :-)

A side note from Me:  Dan and his quiet confidence is pretty coy about meeting the love of his life, but us girls…we all know how it is! Just hanging out with these two for a few hours is pretty easy to see why they are such a good match. And just look at the way he looks at her….

Favourite Photography Moment:

By this time Kyra + Dan were completely warmed up to the camera and having so much fun. It was the last shot of the day, the sun was setting and the gorgeous Kyra just glanced over at us and created this beautiful sun-drenched moment…..
